A tragic incident in Ghaziabad, India, shocked the community after a six-year-old girl was brutally beaten by her father and his wife and forced to sleep outside in freezing cold because her clothes were dirty.

Reports said the girl had been playing on the road when she slipped and fell into a water channel, further dirtying her clothes.

When her father and his wife saw her in this state, they offered no help or care, but beat her violently before leaving her alone on the rooftop in freezing temperatures.

By Monday morning, the girl had passed away.

Neighbors reported the incident to the police, who launched an investigation and took the girl’s body for an autopsy.

Assistant police officer Priya Shree Pal said the forensic report revealed 13 injuries on her body, including rib fractures and severe bruising.

The police arrested the couple, while reports indicated that the girl was one of three children from her father’s previous marriage, after his first wife died three years ago.
