- Leon Adams’ mother demands justice 23 years after attack that left him paralyzed
- The police confirm new information has come to light
Angela Main, the mother of Leon Adams, who passed away last December after 23 years of paralysis following a brutal attack in Cardiff in 2002, has called for the identification of her son’s killer.
She said: "They took his life twice—first when they left him in that state, and the second time when he passed away."
Leon, 24 at the time of the attack, had left his job as a barman at a restaurant at night and was found the next morning near a train station.
The attackers stole his £138 wages, and three men were seen arguing near the station around the time of the assault.
The attack left Leon in a coma for two years and required constant care for the rest of his life.
Despite this, he later managed to communicate using a keyboard and screen, revealing, according to his mother, his sense of humor and passion for music and comedy.
The police confirmed that new information has emerged since Leon’s death and called on anyone with knowledge of the incident to come forward.
Detective Mark O’Shea said: "There are people in Cardiff who know who is responsible for this attack, and some have contacted the police over the past 12 months."
