The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is conducting an investigation into death cases that may be linked to Covid-19 vaccines across multiple age groups, according to a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The department did not immediately specify which age groups are included in the investigation.
Previously, FDA Commissioner, Marty Makary, had indicated that they are studying potential deaths among young people.
Last month, the agency’s chief medical and scientific officer, Vinay Prasad, informed staff in an internal memo that Covid vaccines may have contributed to the deaths of at least 10 children due to heart inflammation, and announced plans to tighten oversight of vaccines.
The memo did not disclose the children’s medical conditions or the vaccine manufacturers involved.
The results, which have not yet been published in a peer-reviewed journal, are based on a preliminary analysis of 96 death cases between 2021 and 2024.
Moderna previously confirmed that there were no new or undisclosed safety concerns regarding its vaccine for children or pregnant women.
Pfizer, which markets another vaccine in collaboration with BioNTech, stated that its vaccine is safe and effective.
Meanwhile, U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. changed government policy regarding Covid vaccines, limiting access to people over 65 or those with chronic health conditions.
Kennedy is known as a critic of vaccines and has made major changes to U.S. policy, including removing the recommendation for hepatitis B vaccination at birth, cutting funding for mRNA vaccines, and linking vaccines to autism despite scientific evidence.
