The Kuwaiti actress Elham Al-Fadala is experiencing a period of suspense and anticipation after being temporarily released by the Criminal Court, while the final verdict in her case—classified under state security files—is scheduled for December 29.

Her lawyer, Maryam Al-Bahr, confirmed that her client is currently at home with her family and that the hearing session has concluded, with the official ruling expected in two weeks.

The case originated from an audio recording attributed to Al-Fadala, which authorities considered to contain statements offensive to the state. This prompted the Public Prosecution to launch an investigation, classifying the case under state security. Based on the investigation, the prosecution ordered Al-Fadala’s preventive detention for 21 days until the technical analysis of the audio recording was completed. During the hearings, Al-Fadala denied the charges, asserting that the recording was fabricated and that she had not published any false content.

Temporary Release and Atmosphere of Anticipation

The court responded to the defense’s request and decided to release the actress without bail, leaving the final judgment to be issued soon. The case sparked widespread attention on social media platforms, with public opinion divided between those who believe Al-Fadala was defamed and those who argue that sharing questionable content warrants legal accountability.
