  • Official spokesperson confirms all options are open

Mohamed El-Shazly, the official spokesperson for Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, confirmed that all available avenues to support the Egyptian national football team in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco are currently under study and continuous monitoring.

This statement comes as part of the government’s efforts to provide everything necessary to back the national team throughout its continental campaign.

Possibility of free travel for fans through national initiatives

El-Shazly clarified that the idea of Egyptian fans traveling to Morocco for free to support the team has not yet been officially approved by the state or the ministry.

However, the spokesperson emphasized that all possibilities remain open, and fan support could materialize through initiatives led by Egyptian businesspeople genuinely willing to back the national team and contribute to covering fans’ travel costs.

These remarks reflect the ministry’s commitment to exploring every possible option to ensure full fan presence for the “Pharaohs” in Morocco, recognizing the crucial role of supporters in major continental tournaments.

Full coordination in preparation for the tournament

The spokesperson added that the Ministry of Youth and Sports, headed by Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, is deploying all available resources to serve the Egyptian national team.

The minister has held several intensive and ongoing meetings with the Football Association board, chaired by Eng. Hany Abu Rida, and with the national team’s technical staff led by the Hassan twins, Hossam and Ibrahim.

These meetings aim to address all logistical and technical needs and provide the optimal environment for players ahead of the tournament.

El-Shazly stressed that the current phase involves full coordination and top-level preparations between the ministry, the Football Association, and the technical staff, confirming that everyone is working “as one team” to fulfill the dreams of Egyptian fans by winning the Africa Cup of Nations, the team’s primary target in the near future.

The Egyptian senior national football team will compete in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Morocco in Group B, a balanced group featuring diverse playing styles.

The “Pharaohs’” group includes the national teams of Zimbabwe, South Africa, and Angola.
