Guinness World Records announces shortest living horse – Video

The German therapy horse “Pumuckel” has been crowned the shortest living horse in the world by Guinness World Records, measuring just 53.6 cm tall.

Carola Weidemann, who adopted Pumuckel in 2020 when he was 5 months old and about 45.7 cm tall, said: “I went to see him and was completely shocked. I had never seen such a tiny horse before.”

Guinness World Records confirmed Pumuckel’s height at 53.6 cm at the withers, making him the shortest living male horse in the world, about 3.8 cm shorter than the previous record holder.

Pumuckel is a trained therapy horse and regularly visits nursing homes, hospitals, and schools.

Weidemann added: “He has an incredibly lovable personality, is great with children, and loves being petted and cuddled. Pumuckel loves being the center of attention.”
