Roya Media Group Filming Begins for Roya’s New Ramadan Comedy “Quban Musa”
"Qubban Musa" for Ramadan 2026

Roya Media Group announced today, Thursday, that production has officially begun on its highly anticipated comedy-drama series Qabban Mousa, set to premiere during the Ramadan 2026 season on Roya TV. The series brings a fresh artistic vision to the screen, offering a mix of high-energy comedy and thoughtful social commentary.

Storyline: A Battle for Identity in the Face of Modern Capitalism

Qabban Mousa is set in a peaceful, close-knit village, where Mousa - an easygoing young man who has inherited his father’s old, modest shop known as “the Qabban” - finds himself facing an unexpected challenge. His simple world is disrupted by Abu Maya, a wealthy capitalist investor who views the shop’s location as the perfect spot for his next big project: a modern shopping mall.

More than a tale of business conflict, the series explores deeper questions of belonging and identity. The “Qabban” symbolizes land, heritage, and roots, while the investor represents a new form of intrusion wrapped in attractive promises. Through a blend of slapstick and farce, the show delivers escalating misunderstandings, awkward confrontations, and comedic chaos that promise nonstop laughter for viewers.

The plot thickens when Maya - the investor’s pampered daughter - enters Mousa’s life as part of her father’s plan, setting off a chain of events involving affection, deception, and a fight to preserve family legacy.

Direction and Starring

  • The series is directed by Zaid Bawwab. The series features a constellation of stars who will bring depth and realism to the skillfully written characters, led by the two stars Mohammad Al-Ajarmeh and Rabee Zeitoun: Mohammad Al-Ajarmeh in the role of Moussa, and Rabee Zeitoun in the role of Nader Beyk.
  • The Cast: The principal actors starring in the series are Mohammad Al-Ajarmeh as Moussa, Nouha Samara as Umm Moussa, and Rabee Zeitoun as Nader Beyk. They are joined by young emerging talents: Abdullah Abu Mattar in the role of Issam, Sarah Abu Zahra in the role of Hatouf, and Abdullah Al-Shawbkeh in the role of Lafi.

Commenting on the production, Eng. Fares Sayegh, CEO of Roya Media Group, said:

“We believed in the script of Qabban Mousa because it masterfully combines depth with clever, high-quality comedy. It tackles themes of family, identity, and tradition versus change in a way that makes the audience laugh while also reflecting on real issues. Our production and directing teams are committed to delivering one of the standout series of Ramadan 2026.”

Symbolically, Mousa represents the everyday Palestinian who faces overwhelming pressures yet continues to hold onto his roots, resilience, and inherent sense of justice, making his journey relatable across the region.
