Egyptian artist Mohamed Ramadan faced a wave of criticism after announcing his new single, “Gamed Zay Ma Ana”, with some social media users claiming he “moved on too quickly after his father’s death just days ago.”

Ramadan explained on Instagram that the song was filmed two months ago during a work trip to the United States and was initially scheduled for release three days earlier. However, he agreed with the production company to postpone it to the following Wednesday out of respect for his mourning period.

Despite this clarification, many followers felt that discussing production details so soon after the loss was inappropriate, suggesting that a longer period of private mourning would have been more suitable before promoting his work.

At the same time, many fans defended Ramadan, arguing that the criticism was excessive, noting that he is one of the Arab world’s top stars and has contractual obligations that must be honored.

Ramadan announced last week the passing of his father at the age of 77, who had suffered from chronic heart conditions.

He wrote on Instagram: “Early Friday morning, November 7, 2025, my dear father returned to his eternal rest. May God have mercy on him and all your deceased loved ones… Indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return, 1948-2025.”
