News reporter ends her mother’s life in stabbing in the US

Angelynn Mock, 47, was taken into custody on charges of fatally stabbing her mother in Wichita, Kansas, authorities reported.

Jail records show she was booked into Sedgwick County Jail on a first-degree murder charge.

Wichita police said officers responded around 7:52 a.m. Friday to a reported stabbing at a home on Crowley Street near Victoria Street on the city’s South Side.

Upon arrival, they found 80-year-old Anita Avers unresponsive in her bed with multiple stab wounds. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 8:26 a.m.

Mock was identified as a suspect and located outside the home following the incident.

The motives for the crime are still unknown as the investigation continues.

Mock previously worked as a morning news reporter in Oklahoma City.
