Documents Confirm Najah Al-Masaeed Requested Divorce from Her Husband Amer Al-Surdi Al-Surdi Accused of Stealing Five Million Emirati Dirhams

Sources close to the Jordanian poet and media personality Najah Al-Masaeed revealed that her decision to divorce her husband, Amer Rakad Al-Sardi, was made at her personal request in April 2025, while the husband had expressed his opposition to this decision at the time.

Media outlets obtained official documents showing that Najah Al-Masaeed was the initiating party in requesting the separation due to family disputes that emerged during court sessions. The sources confirmed that the Sharia Public Prosecution has officially joined the case related to accusations against Al-Sardi for allegedly stealing five million Emirati dirhams, to present the necessary pleadings and ensure the proper course of justice.

“Attempt to exploit personal dispute”

This revelation comes after social media users circulated video recordings of Amer Al-Sardi’s brother and sister, who recently defended him and accused Najah Al-Masaeed of attempting to exploit the personal dispute to gain fame on social media. In the video, Al-Sardi’s sister said: “Just because Amer wants to leave you, you go trending on social media to get likes and comments.”

She emphasized that the family is well-off and does not seek fame or personal gain, affirming that only the judiciary can fairly adjudicate her brother’s case, and that she will take legal action against anyone who spreads defamatory content or misrepresents the case.

“Electronic trolls”

Meanwhile, Amer Al-Sardi’s brother expressed his trust in the Jordanian judiciary, noting that the family will take legal measures against anyone who defames or spreads accusations against him. He stated: “We are a country of law, and no one is above it.” He added that the matter is merely a family dispute between a couple, expressing his rejection of what he described as “electronic trolls” attempting to mislead public opinion.
