On Wednesday, the Cairo Economic Court issued a ruling acquitting singer Sherine Abdel-Wahab of the charges of insult and defamation in the case filed by her former social media manager, who had accused her of offending him through several posts.

Judicial sources stated that the court based its verdict on insufficient evidence to convict the singer, noting that the pleadings and documents presented did not support the allegations against Sherine, according to local newspapers.

Claim for Financial Compensation

The former manager had filed the lawsuit weeks ago before the Economic Court, seeking to hold the singer accountable, claiming she had insulted him verbally and through her actions, in addition to requesting temporary civil compensation of 200,000 Egyptian pounds.
