  • Britney Spears has deactivated her Instagram account following concerning posts in response to allegations made by her ex-husband Kevin Federline in his latest memoir
  • The book contains troubling claims about her personal life and her children, while Spears confirmed on X that she has been subjected to “constant gaslighting” and that her sole focus is on her children

The singer Britney Spears deactivated her Instagram account after a series of concerning posts in response to her ex-husband Kevin Federline’s latest memoir, while her X account remains active

The move came after Spears responded to Federline’s memoir You Thought You Knew, which was released in October

The book details the couple’s turbulent relationship, including their marriage in 2004 and divorce in 2007, and includes alarming claims such as Spears watching their children sleep while holding a knife, and using alcohol and drugs during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Spears responded to these claims on X, accusing Federline of “constant gaslighting” that has become “extremely hurtful and exhausting,” writing: Trust me, those white lies in that book are going straight to the bank, and I am the only one who genuinely gets hurt here.

She posted a second message saying: To be loved unconditionally and with a naive heart like mine, always being threatened or made to feel like I’m the bad one while they profit from my pain

She added: I 100 percent disagree with the way he is literally attacking me in his interviews. Truth be told, the man went straight to the source and said it clear as day… no money from Britney for five years, you’re trying to get paid, that’s what general America is saying… our kids are adults now, the world is different… why is he so angry… and what’s scary is he’s convincing

A representative for Spears added that Federline and others “are profiting off [Spears], and sadly this comes after child support with Kevin has ended.” Her main concern is her children, Sean Preston and Jayden James, and their well-being amid the media frenzy, which she also documented in her memoir

Fans have expressed concern over Spears’ recent posts, including one on October 7 showing bruises on her arms and bandages on her hands and wrists

The singer explained that the injuries were the result of a fall down the stairs at my friend’s house.

It is still unclear whether Spears deactivated the account herself or if it was done by Meta, Instagram’s parent company
