  • Tried to force him to reciprocate her love

A woman was arrested in Bengaluru, India, after allegedly stalking a police inspector and threatening to harm herself in an attempt to pressure him into a personal relationship, according to police.

A complaint filed at Ramamurthy Nagar Police Station stated that Inspector Satish GJ, who serves as the station chief, began receiving repeated WhatsApp calls and messages from an unknown number in late October.

Police accused the woman, known as Sanjana or Vanaja, of repeatedly contacting the inspector on his official number, claiming that she loved him and that he must reciprocate.

The police described the initial calls as incoherent and initially dismissed them as a potential prank, but repeated calls from multiple numbers led the inspector to block her.

The situation escalated when the woman claimed she had political connections with senior leaders and sent photos with prominent figures, including Congress leaders, asserting she could influence the inspector’s career if he did not comply.

Later, some calls appeared to come from the Home Minister’s and Deputy Chief Minister’s offices, prompting police to clarify that no official inquiry had been made and that the woman had never formally visited the station to file a complaint.

The harassment continued with personal visits to the police station. On November 7, she reportedly entered the inspector’s office during working hours and handed over an envelope containing three letters and strips of tablets.

The letters included suicide threats and love notes, one reportedly written in blood.

Despite repeated warnings from officials that contacting the inspector during working hours obstructed public service, the woman continued demanding that he reciprocate her feelings.

Investigations revealed that she had targeted other senior and junior officers in similar incidents, prompting a special report and a visit to her residence. Her family refused to cooperate with investigators.

On December 12, the woman returned to the police station, raised her voice, and again threatened suicide and reputational harm if her advances were rejected.

After the continued harassment, the inspector filed a formal complaint, a case was registered, and investigations are ongoing.
