The forensic report settled the debate over the death of Egyptian artist Nevin Mandour, stating that the cause was smoke inhalation from a fire that broke out inside her room, with no signs of violence or resistance observed.

The report also indicated that the fire started after a cigarette fell on the bed, causing the mattress to ignite quickly and smoke to fill the room, while the flames remained confined to the area where she was sitting.

Investigations by the Public Prosecution and Civil Defense teams confirmed that the deceased was inside her room when the incident occurred, noting that her health condition, after a previous stroke and knee replacement surgery, prevented her from controlling the fire or leaving the room.

A source close to the artist’s family denied, in statements to a newspaper, all claims of her husband’s involvement or any financial motives behind her death, stressing that these allegations are unsupported by any evidence and that the incident was accidental and linked to the cigarette.
