Omar Khorshid had announced the divorce unexpectedly on his official Facebook account, confirming that the separation was amicable and by mutual consent. He stated: "The divorce between Yasmin El-Gilany, the mother of my daughter, and me has been carried out amicably and by mutual agreement. Just as the marriage was announced, so must the divorce be announced."

It is worth noting that Omar Khorshid, the son of actress Ola Rami and the late actor Ihab Khorshid, married Yasmin El-Gilany in 2015 after a long friendship that turned into a strong love story. They have one daughter and had largely stayed away from the public eye for a long period.
