Actor Omar Khorshid, son of actress Ola Rami, announced his separation from his wife, actress Yasmine El-Gilany, after more than a decade of marriage, leaving his family and fans in shock.

Khorshid confirmed on his official Facebook account that the divorce was amicable and mutual, writing: “The divorce between me and Ms. Yasmine El-Gilany, the mother of my daughter, took place amicably and by mutual consent. Just as marriage should be announced, divorce must also be announced.”

A love story born in drama The relationship between Khorshid and El-Gilany began more than ten years ago, when they met on the set of the series “Ashrar wa Tayebeen” (Villains and Good People). What started as professional collaboration grew into friendship, then blossomed into love that culminated in marriage in November 2015.

Although the engagement was quickly announced, the couple faced several obstacles before their wedding, including being scammed by an interior designer who took a large sum to furnish their marital home and then disappeared, in addition to the deaths of several relatives. These events forced the couple to postpone the wedding more than once, before finally holding it in Cairo in the presence of a number of celebrities.

The birth of their first daughter In April 2017, the couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Emma. Khorshid shared the joyful news in a heartfelt Instagram post, writing: “All praise and thanks be to You, Lord… I became a father and welcomed a baby girl, Emma Omar Khorshid.”

El-Gilany between motherhood and art Khorshid previously clarified that his wife had not permanently retired from acting but chose to dedicate her time to raising their daughter, stressing that she intended to return to the screen in the future. El-Gilany’s last appearance was in the 2013 drama “Mazag El-Kheir”, starring Mostafa Shaaban, Dorra, Abir Sabri, and other well-known actors.
