- Jordanian Football Association board approves VAR operation, medical center, and 2026–2027 budgets
The Jordanian Football Association (JFA) held a board meeting chaired by Prince Ali bin Al Hussein to review administrative, financial, and organizational matters aimed at advancing football in the country.
Chinese Company to Operate VAR
During the meeting, the board approved the Procurement Committee’s recommendation to award the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) contract to Beijing Rigour Technology, with the system set to be operational starting next season.
The JFA is continuing work to meet all requirements for implementing VAR in local stadiums, including upgrading infrastructure and conducting training programs for referees and officiating staff to ensure the technology is used effectively.
Ongoing Partnership with Kelme
The board also endorsed the Marketing Committee’s recommendation to continue its partnership with Kelme, which will supply official kits and approved match balls for national teams in the upcoming period.
Specialized Medical Center for Athletes
As part of enhancing player healthcare, the association approved a request to seek accreditation from the Asian Football Confederation and FIFA for establishing a specialized sports medicine center.
The project will be implemented in partnership with a specialized hospital and a research-educational institute, providing comprehensive services for football players, including injury diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation and prevention programs, sports nutrition services, and anti-doping awareness.
The initiative also aims to support scientific research and medical education in sports medicine, contributing to better player health and performance development.
Approval of Budgets and Upcoming Meetings
The board further approved the JFA’s 2026 budget along with the preliminary 2027 budget, ensuring continued implementation of development projects in line with the association’s strategic plans.
The board scheduled the ordinary general assembly for May 19, which will include elections for the new board, and an extraordinary general assembly on April 16.
