Three staff members of a British airline were hospitalized after eating sweets given to them by a passenger, local reports revealed.

The incident occurred on a flight from London Heathrow to Los Angeles. After landing, a passenger offered the treats to the crew on the crew bus.

Three crew members reportedly experienced “out-of-body sensations” after consuming the sweets and sought medical attention upon arriving at their hotel.

A source confirmed the sweets contained a psychoactive substance, with doses up to 300 mg.

The crew was unaware of the contents, and since the incident occurred after landing in the United States, no in-flight injuries occurred.

The airline is taking the matter seriously, noting that had the entire crew been exposed at 9,000 meters, the consequences could have been severe.

The company sent a replacement crew for the return flight, and passengers were not affected. The three crew members have fully recovered and will face no disciplinary action.

Authorities are now trying to identify the passenger who distributed the sweets, who may face multiple criminal charges.
