Media reports say global star Britney Spears has sold the rights to her entire music catalog in a secret deal with an independent music publisher on December 30, worth an estimated $200 million, with no official announcement or detailed terms disclosed.
Spears, 44, ended her long-running conservatorship in 2021, which had controlled her personal and professional life. In January 2024, she stated she would not return to the music industry, and her last release was a duet with Elton John in 2022.
She is one of the best-selling female artists worldwide, with over 150 million records sold. Her catalog includes nine studio albums since 1999.
The sale comes after years of personal and professional ups and downs, including the release of her memoir The Woman in Me in 2023, while her ex-husband Kevin Federline published his memoir You Thought You Knew at the end of 2025.
Previous reports also noted that several other global stars, including Bruce Springsteen, Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, and Shakira, have sold their music catalogs in similar secret deals.
