In a new and shocking development in the case of the death of the esteemed Syrian actress Huda Shaarawi, the family of the late actress revealed painful details about the first moments of discovering the crime inside her home in Damascus.

Ghassan Al-Hariri, the late actress’s son-in-law, explained that one of his children was the first to enter his grandmother’s room on the night of the incident, where he discovered the horrific scene that placed the family in indescribable shock.

The Syrian Internal Security Forces arrested Huda Shaarawi’s maid, who is of Ugandan nationality, and she is facing a charge of murder, after a letter attributed to her was found in which she confesses to committing the crime through the “mortar,” according to what the authorities announced.

In press statements, Al-Hariri confirmed that the maid had been working in the family’s home for only about two months. She was treated well and received special care from the late actress. He noted that she did not suffer from any notable health or psychological conditions and was not assigned to clean the house. Her role was limited to keeping the late actress company and helping her with her daily affairs.

He added that his children were accustomed to spending long periods at their grandmother’s home, explaining that they left her house that night at around one o’clock in the morning without noticing anything unusual.

Al-Hariri also revealed details of the first moments of discovering the crime, saying that his son entered his grandmother’s home at around eleven o’clock at night. As soon as he opened the door, he smelled something burning, which prompted him to rush into her room, where he found her lying on her bed and blood filling the place.

He continued that his son immediately informed his brother of what he had seen, before the two of them contacted him and conveyed the details of the incident. He pointed out that the shock was severe for the family, saying: “In moments like these, a person completely loses their balance.” He added that he asked his two sons to immediately contact the family’s lawyer to take the necessary legal procedures.
