Authorities found two teenage girls hanged in the Sports Authority of India hostel in Kollam, according to a local newspaper report.

Reports identified the girls as Sandra (17) from Kozhikode and Vyshnavi (15) from Thiruvananthapuram.

Police told local media that Sandra was a grade 12 student training in athletics, while Vyshnavi was in grade 10 and training in Kabaddi.

Investigations are ongoing, and the bodies will be handed over to the families after post-mortem examinations.

Authorities are currently questioning students and hostel staff.
