A 57-year-old man died in a tragic accident at his workplace in Arizona, USA, after being trapped inside a chemical mixer, according to local authorities and media reports.
Reports, according to the "Mirror" newspaper, indicated that José Fernando Bartida was cleaning the inner part of the mixer at a company when another employee entered the machine, causing it to start before Bartida could get out.
The other employee managed to escape, while Bartida remained trapped inside the machine.
Severe injuries
The Rural Metro Fire Department said they immediately cut the power, and the rescue team spent five hours extracting him with the help of the hazardous materials team, after he sustained severe injuries including fractures in the ribs, leg, and arm, along with multiple bruises. Bartida was taken to the hospital but passed away.
The Yuma County Police Department indicated that the investigation into the accident is ongoing, while the Arizona Industrial Commission stated that the investigation may take four to five months to reach final results.
