Slovenian authorities have found the body of the late Austrian, Stephanie Bieber, 31, in a remote forest after her former boyfriend confessed to being involved in her murder and directed investigators to her burial site.

According to an Austrian newspaper, investigators were able to locate her after the man admitted to strangling Bieber. He is now detained on the Slovenian side and is set to be extradited to Austria to continue the investigation.

Stephanie Bieber was last seen on Sunday morning exiting a taxi with her boyfriend in Graz, Austria’s second-largest city.

When she failed to attend a scheduled photoshoot, the photographer who was supposed to work with her went to her apartment, where he encountered the suspect, Peter M., 31.

During a search of the apartment, Bieber’s dog was found alone, and her phone was off. Investigations revealed text messages she sent via WhatsApp before her disappearance, stating that her former boyfriend had a dark personality and that she felt threatened while returning from walking her dog.

On the same day, authorities found the suspect’s car burned on the other side of the Austrian border, with no clear explanation for why it was set on fire.

A local resident confirmed hearing loud noises coming from Bieber’s apartment on the morning she disappeared, heightening concerns about her fate.
