"Aiten Amer: "Family and my son come first, then work"Aiten Amer: "Ahmed El Sakka helped me after my eye injury

Egyptian actress Aiten Amer spoke about her personal experience after her divorce, how she reorganized her priorities, and detailed a serious eye injury she suffered, highlighting the crucial role of fellow actor Ahmed El Sakka in helping her.

Aiten Amer told a television program that the post-divorce period was a turning point in her life, explaining that her priorities had drastically changed: "Family and my son come first, then work." She added that self-care became essential because she carries multiple daily responsibilities, and if she is not in good condition, she cannot continue or achieve her goals.

"The divorce decision wasn’t easy"

Amer discussed her divorce, emphasizing that the decision was not easy and came after two years of prolonged disagreements: "The decision to separate didn’t happen overnight. It was two years of back-and-forth, and I reached a point where I had to choose… either I cry and break down, or I continue my work. I chose not to announce the news until after finishing filming ‘Anbar 6’ because I didn’t want anyone comforting me." She noted that the experience gave her new awareness and a greater sense of responsibility: "I don’t have the luxury to collapse; I have duties and must carry on."

"Ahmed El Sakka came to my rescue"

Regarding her eye injury, Amer explained that she noticed a problem with the nerve in her left eye about 15 days prior, causing significant stress and anxiety. She immediately contacted Ahmed El Sakka: "I told him, ‘Help me, my eye nerve is not right,’" and he quickly arranged an appointment with a specialist. She left the filming set of Kolhom Beyhebbo Mody to get medical attention.

She added that the more serious incident occurred during a wedding scene shoot, when an empty prop cartridge struck her right eye, causing a blood spot and continuous tearing. Despite the tension on set, she insisted on completing the scene.

Amer explained that Sakka helped her again after midnight by guiding her through first aid and temporary treatment until morning. She later received a precise diagnosis confirming a severe contusion causing capillary damage, but she successfully overcame the crisis.
