The Egyptian media scene was shaken following the announcement of the sudden death of young media personality Hiba El-Ziyad, who was found dead last Thursday at the age of 32, raising questions about the cause of her unexpected passing, as she had no known illnesses, according to media reports.

Media figure Musab Al-Abbasi revealed on his television program previously undisclosed details about the incident, noting that the causes of death continue to raise questions amid conflicting information circulating on social media.

Al-Abbasi added that he personally contacted Hiba’s mother, Engineer Sabah, who explained that Hiba had been living alone in her apartment when she was found on the sofa in the living room, confirming that there was no suspicion of foul play. She indicated that the preliminary cause of death was a sudden drop in blood circulation.

She further explained that her daughter had been following a strict diet recently, which could have affected her health, even though she had no chronic illnesses or prior health problems.

She noted that the combination of this strict diet, professional exhaustion, and daily pressures may have directly contributed to sudden heart failure, a common cause of sudden death among young people who appear healthy.

Al-Abbasi pointed out that Hiba’s last contact with the channel’s management was one day before her death, when she excused herself from attending a new episode recording due to sudden fatigue, without showing any warning signs, according to her colleagues.

“The information currently relates to her health.”

Responding to rumors that emerged after her death about threats or blackmail, Al-Abbasi emphasized that the family has not issued any official statements supporting these claims, and the confirmed information so far is related to her health and recent lifestyle.
