Five members of a single family were killed on Saturday morning in a tragic accident on the Coastal International Road near Kafr El-Dawar in Beheira Governorate, Egypt, causing widespread grief across social media platforms.

According to Egyptian media outlets, the security authorities received a report from the emergency police about a private car overturning near the village of Al-Keryon, in the direction of the city of Rashid, with several casualties confirmed on the spot.

Police forces and several ambulances rushed to the scene. An initial investigation revealed that the car was being driven by a mechanical engineer, and the steering wheel malfunctioned while descending from the top of a bridge, causing the car to veer off, hit the concrete barrier on the side of the road, and eventually overturn.

Family Perishes

The accident resulted in the deaths of the driver, his wife, and their three children due to skull fractures and internal bleeding in the brain and abdomen. The car was severely damaged and has been seized by the authorities for investigation.

The five victims’ bodies were transported to the morgue, while the investigative authorities began all necessary procedures to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident.
