A school in Kerala, India, witnessed a shocking incident, where a teacher was attacked by her husband inside the school on Thursday, causing panic among the students and administrative staff.
The incident occurred at Puvathumoodu School in Ettumanur around 10:30 a.m., when the suspect, known as Kushomon, entered the school premises and assaulted his wife Donia, who is a teacher.
According to the school administration, the attack took place inside the principal’s office, where Kushomon apparently used a sharp object to stab his wife in the neck after requesting to meet her.
The injured teacher was immediately taken to the hospital, and initial reports indicated that her injuries are not life-threatening.
School staff noted that the assault might be related to family issues.
Kushomon had visited the school earlier in the day around 9:30 a.m. to inquire about his wife, and the principal informed him that Donia had not yet arrived, so he left and returned about an hour later.
Upon his return at 10:30 a.m., the principal said he wanted to hand her a book and insisted on meeting her, so the principal called the teacher into her office, and the attack occurred, according to staff.
Other teachers heard Donia’s screams and rushed to the office, but Kushomon had already fled the school by that time.
Staff stated that the incident occurred within a few minutes, leaving the school community in shock.
The police launched a wide investigation and are searching for the suspect. Statements from the principal, teachers, and other staff are being recorded, and authorities will examine whether security gaps allowed the assailant to enter the building without obstruction.
