A family living in Surrey, Britain, is looking for someone to take on an unusual role that involves living on a private estate and fully caring for the family’s dog, in exchange for an annual salary of £60,000 (around $80,000), along with free accommodation in a cottage on the property and all bills covered.

According to the advertisement, the role includes living in the estate, acting as a dog companion and estate assistant, where the employee is expected to provide daily care for the animal, including feeding, grooming, hygiene, and monitoring its health and behaviour, as well as keeping records of its daily routine and appointments with veterinarians and trainers.

Working hours run from Sunday to Thursday, 9am to 6pm, with some flexibility when family members are present on the estate.

The responsibilities also include overseeing the house during the owners’ absence, ensuring everything runs smoothly, receiving parcels, and flagging any issues that require attention, without the role being a traditional housekeeping job.

Light tasks may also be required, such as organising daily kitchen activities, heating prepared meals, and keeping the space tidy afterwards.
