  • Continuing medical treatment abroad and denial of death rumors

Nahla Tawfiq, wife of artist Hani Shaker, has denied the authenticity of recently circulated images showing him in a critical health condition inside a hospital, stressing that the photos are fabricated and were generated using artificial intelligence technologies with the aim of misleading the public and stirring controversy.

According to remarks reported by art critic Tarek El-Shenawy, Shaker’s wife explained that such images cannot be taken in the first place, given the strict procedures governing the artist’s privacy inside his treatment room, whether during his stay in Cairo or while receiving medical care in Paris. She emphasized that the leaking of such photos is entirely impossible.

Tawfiq also urged the public to verify information carefully and avoid being drawn into rumors, expressing hope that his health condition will improve soon and that he will return to his artistic career in the near future.

For her part, artist Nadia Mostafa, a close family associate, confirmed that Hani Shaker’s health condition requires ongoing medical follow-up in France, while firmly denying reports claiming his death.

This clarification comes to put an end to widespread speculation on social media, while stressing the importance of relying on official sources or family statements, and avoiding engagement with fabricated content that exploits technology to spread misinformation.
