In a heartbreaking humanitarian tragedy that shook Jordan and ignited social media, a young man and his wife died in a horrific traffic accident on the Dead Sea road, leaving behind five children in a shocking scene that is difficult to comprehend or believe.

The young man Aydi Mohammed Ahmed Al-Muhafazah and his wife were on a family visit to the wife’s family home in Amman, in what seemed like a normal trip filled with warm family atmosphere, before the return journey turned into a heavy tragedy that suddenly ended their lives.

In the details, while they were heading back to the Ghor Al-Safi area late on Friday/Saturday night, near the Dead Sea region, a severe collision occurred between two vehicles, leading to the immediate death of both parents. The children sustained varying injuries and were transferred to the hospital for treatment, amid a state of severe shock, especially with the presence of a baby girl not older than seven months.

The incident left an extremely painful human scene, as five children suddenly found themselves without parents in a single moment that turned their lives upside down, amid deep shock experienced by the family and relatives.

Just hours earlier, they had been at the grandparents’ house in a joyful family atmosphere, spending the weekend as usual, until fate struck and the horrific accident occurred, taking their lives without farewell.

Social media in Jordan was flooded with the tragic news, as thousands expressed deep sorrow and sympathy for the children in a wave of mourning and prayers.

The Public Security Directorate stated that rescue and ambulance teams from the Civil Defense in Balqa dealt with the incident immediately after it occurred, transporting the deceased to Al-Shuna Al-Janoubia Government Hospital, providing first aid to the injured, and opening a traffic investigation into the circumstances of the accident.
