Gold prices declined on Tuesday amid public anticipation. The price of 21-karat gold reached 97.30 dinars.

Gold prices in the local market witnessed a new decline during Tuesday’s trading, amid a state of anticipation among economic circles and consumers regarding the possibility of continued decreases in the coming days.

According to the daily pricing issued by the General Association of Owners of Jewellery and Goldsmith Shops, the price of gold fell by 30 piasters per gram, in a move that reflects ongoing volatility in the local market.

The selling price of one gram of 21-karat gold, the most in demand among citizens, recorded around 97.30 dinars for selling from jewellery shops, compared to 92.90 dinars for buying. Other gold karats also continued to record varying levels, with 24-karat gold reaching about 111.30 dinars, 18-karat at 86.00 dinars, and 14-karat at 67.40 dinars.

Amid this continued decline, Jordanians are cautiously monitoring price movements in the coming period, with expectations and indications suggesting the possibility of further drops, which reinforces a wait-and-see attitude among buyers and investors, as they anticipate any additional decreases that may hit the market.
