It has been decided that the Jordanian national team stars, Ali Al-Alwan and Yazan Al-Na’emat, will accompany Al-Hussein Irbid Club’s delegation on their return journey from Qatar to Jordan, following the postponement of the team’s match against Al-Ahli of Qatar in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League 2.

Al-Hussein Irbid had arrived in Doha in recent days in preparation for the first leg against Al-Ahli, before the Asian Football Confederation announced the postponement of the match until further notice due to the current regional situation.

Postponement of the continental match

Al-Hussein Irbid was scheduled to face Al-Ahli in Doha in the first leg of the AFC Champions League 2 quarter-finals, but the decision to postpone was taken to preserve the safety of the football system amid the regional developments.

The AFC’s decision also included postponing the second leg, which was scheduled in Amman, leaving the dates of both matches pending until new dates are determined.

Following the postponement, Al-Hussein Irbid’s management coordinated with the relevant authorities to arrange the team’s return to Jordan after the waiting period spent by the players and technical staff in Qatar in preparation for the match that was ultimately not played.

Al-Alwan and Al-Na’emat accompany the delegation

Under these arrangements, it was decided that national team stars Ali Al-Alwan and Yazan Al-Na’emat would accompany Al-Hussein Irbid’s delegation on the return trip from Qatar to Jordan.

The delegation will first travel to Dammam in Saudi Arabia before continuing the journey to Jordan, as part of the travel route arranged for the team’s return after the Asian match postponement.

Al-Hussein Irbid completed the procedures to obtain Saudi entry visas for the players, allowing them to accompany the team’s delegation on the return trip without any administrative obstacles.

Ongoing treatment program at Aspetar

Despite their temporary return to Jordan, Ali Al-Alwan and Yazan Al-Na’emat will later return to Qatar to continue the treatment program they are undergoing at Aspetar, one of the region’s leading medical centers specializing in sports medicine.

This is part of a rehabilitation plan aimed at restoring the players’ full physical readiness before returning to the field and participating in official competitions in the upcoming period.

Medical follow-up by the national team

The national team’s medical staff is expected to monitor the players’ health during their stay in Jordan, in coordination with the medical team overseeing their treatment program in Qatar.

This follow-up aims to ensure the rehabilitation process progresses properly and to assess each player’s physical condition before making the final decision regarding their return to training and matches.
