The village of Bani Shuqair, affiliated with the center of Manfalut in Assiut Governorate, witnessed a tragic incident that claimed the lives of four third-year preparatory school students, following a sudden explosion inside a house while they were carrying out maintenance work on a motorcycle.

Details of the incident date back to security authorities receiving a report of an explosion inside a house in the village, caused by the ignition of a motorcycle fuel tank, resulting in casualties. Criminal investigation forces and ambulance vehicles immediately moved to the scene.

After examination, it was confirmed that the four students had died from severe injuries, and their bodies were transferred to Manfalut Central Hospital, while the Public Prosecution launched an investigation to determine the circumstances and causes of the incident.

Initial investigations showed that the students were inside a room in one of their homes, cleaning a motorcycle fuel tank in preparation for maintenance, while simultaneously reviewing their lessons ahead of upcoming exams.

The investigations added that the operation of a portable air-conditioning unit inside the room coincided with an electrical spark from the motorcycle, which led to the ignition of fuel and a sudden explosion inside the enclosed space, causing flames to spread rapidly.

A state of deep sorrow has engulfed the villagers, who confirmed that the four students were close friends since childhood, known for their dedication and diligence, and used to gather daily to study together, before their lives ended in a tragic moment that deeply shook the entire community.
