Al-Hussein Irbid maintained their lead atop the Jordanian Pro League CFI table for the 2025/2026 season after a resounding 5-2 win over Al-Baqa’a on Thursday evening in Week 17 of the competition.

The match featured an outstanding offensive display from Al-Hussein, with Arif Al-Hajj netting a brilliant four-goal haul in the 18th, 47th, 49th, and 88th minutes, while Saad Al-Rousan added another in the 34th. For the visitors, Alion Mbaye scored in the 12th minute and Khaled Siyaha in the 68th, but their efforts were not enough to threaten Al-Hussein’s dominance.

The excitement wasn’t limited to the top match, as other teams also secured important victories. Shabab Al-Ordon defeated Al-Ahli 1-0 with Jordi Duran scoring in the 81st minute, while Al-Jazeera edged Al-Ramtha 1-0 thanks to Seif Al-Taher’s stoppage-time goal in the 90+1 minute. Al-Faisaly crushed Al-Sarhan 4-0, with goals from Muhannad Khairallah (27’), Mohammad Ibrahim Qassem (43’), an own goal by Yazan Al-Ghrabaleh (47’), and Harry Aaron (77’).

Al-Wehdat overturned Al-Salt, who had initially taken the lead through Kalu Onimachi in the 78th minute. Oludari Alofonwa scored an own goal in the 90th minute, and Anas Al-Awdat sealed the victory in the 90+6 minute for Al-Wehdat.

By the end of Week 17, Al-Hussein leads the table with 37 points, followed by Al-Faisaly with 36, Al-Ramtha 34, Al-Wehdat 33, Al-Jazeera 21, Al-Salt 19, Al-Baqa’a 18, Shabab Al-Ordon 17, Al-Ahli 11, and Al-Sarhan at the bottom with 5 points.

Meanwhile, the Jordan Football Association has decided to postpone the Al-Sarhan vs. Al-Hussein match, originally scheduled for Monday, March 2 at 9:45 PM in Week 18, to a later date. The move allows Al-Hussein to prepare for their upcoming fixture without the pressure of a congested schedule.

With this commanding win, Al-Hussein Irbid reinforces its status as the top contender for the season, combining well-coordinated team play with a powerful offense that makes it difficult for any competitor to close the gap in the title race.
