Sahab and Aqaba witness two tragic incidents “Security” continues investigations into the circumstances of both cases

Social media in Jordan has been abuzz over the past two days with two tragic incidents that occurred shortly before Eid al-Adha, amid widespread public anger and sorrow, as people await the results of official investigations to uncover the circumstances and details.

In detail, the media spokesperson of the Public Security Directorate stated that the Criminal Investigation Department and relevant security centers are investigating two separate criminal cases that took place in Sahab, east of the capital Amman, and in Aqaba Governorate, after two bodies were found on public roads.

A tragic incident in Sahab

The spokesperson explained that the first report was received by the East Amman Police Directorate and the Criminal Investigation Department regarding the discovery of a body lying in a street in Sahab. Security forces immediately moved to the scene and began inspection and evidence collection procedures.

During the preliminary investigation, another report was received indicating that the suspect in the killing had shot himself inside his home, resulting in his death. The bodies were transferred to the Forensic Medicine Department.

In a separate incident in Aqaba Governorate, the police directorate received a report about a body found on a public road. It was found that the victim had been stabbed, which led to his death.

An expanded investigation has been launched to clarify the circumstances of the incident and identify the perpetrator.
