Amid an atmosphere of confidence and optimism, just hours before Jordan’s debut in the Arab football festival, national team coach Jamal Salami directly addressed his players and fans, emphasizing that being in Doha for the 2025 Arab Cup is not merely a regional competition, but a key step in preparing for the larger dream of the World Cup finals.

During the press conference held Tuesday in the Qatari capital, Salami stressed that early World Cup qualification had raised ambitions, focusing on building a competitive team with a strong bench. He highlighted that the current tournament serves as a true test to measure the progress of Jordanian football, which consistently seeks excellence and a distinguished place among top teams.

Regarding the opening match tomorrow against the UAE at Al Bayt Stadium, the Moroccan coach affirmed that the “Nashama” aim for high-level consistency, seeking a strong start to secure three points and boost their chances of advancing in a tightly contested tournament featuring 16 teams.

Salami did not hide the challenges facing his squad, including the absence of six key players, but framed this as an opportunity for the present players to showcase their skills and earn their place in the national jersey, expressing full confidence in their ability to step up.

The team concluded field preparations today with their final main training session, during which the coaching staff finalized tactical plans for tomorrow’s match. They face a compressed schedule, with a game against Kuwait on Saturday at Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, followed by a final group stage clash against Egypt on the 9th of the month.
