The repercussions of the tragedy that shook public opinion in Egypt’s Dakahlia Governorate continue to cast a shadow over public discussions and social media, after a father killed his three children with a knife, then attempted to murder his wife with multiple stab wounds, before ending his own life under a train in the Toukh district of the same governorate.

The horrifying incident, which occurred in the city of Nabruwa, sent shockwaves through the community, raising questions about the reasons and motives that drove the perpetrator to commit this brutal crime against his family.

New details from the surviving wife’s family The family of the surviving wife revealed new information, noting that she had requested a divorce due to ongoing mistreatment, despite her dedication to caring for her husband’s children from his previous marriage. The family explained that the wife ran a household goods store, where the husband arrived on the day of the incident seeking reconciliation. When she refused, he attempted to lure her to the “Sundara” area above the store under the pretext of talking, and there attacked her with thirteen stab wounds, leaving her bleeding heavily before fleeing the scene.

The family confirmed that the wife loved her husband’s children from his first marriage and treated them as her own, and that this was her second marriage following a previous divorce. They indicated that the crime was committed in retaliation for her refusal to reconcile and insistence on divorce.

Investigations by the Public Prosecution According to Egyptian media, the competent Public Prosecution continues to investigate the case, having ordered the autopsies of the three children, after taking all necessary legal measures to uncover the causes and circumstances of the horrific crime.
