The granddaughter of the "Star of the East" retires from art, and her father reveals the reasons

Sanae Nabil, the granddaughter of the legendary singer Umm Kulthum, has become a trending topic on social media after confirming her permanent retirement from the arts.
Regarding her decision to retire, her father explained that it was based on her personal choice, despite her deep love for art since childhood, considering her grandmother Umm Kulthum as a role model and source of inspiration throughout her artistic journey.
He clarified that the main reason behind this sudden decision was Sanae’s desire to wear the hijab and dedicate herself to prayer and worship. He also noted that she received many offers in both singing and acting, but she declined them all, choosing a life of inner peace away from the spotlight.
A Inherited Talent
It is worth mentioning that Sanae Nabil gained widespread fame after participating in a talent show where she received the golden buzzer from artist Ahmed Helmy. The public praised her talent, which she inherited from the “Star of the East,” and many expected her to have a promising artistic future following in her grandmother’s footsteps.
Sanae trained under the renowned oud player Dr. Ahmed Abdullah and took part in numerous concerts and artistic festivals. One of her most notable appearances was at the "Hadhihi Laylati" (This Is My Night) concert held in 2021 in commemoration of Umm Kulthum, where she performed a selection of her beloved songs.
