Social media platforms were abuzz in recent hours with the news of the death of renowned Syrian actress Fatima Saad at the age of 59, as fans remembered her unforgettable voice that spanned decades.

The late actress left a lasting mark over a 38-year career, becoming a beloved voice in many children’s animated series such as Mowgli, Captain Majid, Naruto, and Ikkyū-san.

A Distinctive Voice

In radio, Fatima Saad brought to life iconic characters in programs like Hukm Al-Adala ("Justice Ruling") and Amazing Phenomena, both broadcast on Syrian radio and considered among her most notable works.

She lent her voice to nearly 100 children’s cartoons, many of which gained wide popularity, in addition to contributing to film dubbing and participating in several television dramas.

The Damascus branch of the Artists’ Syndicate announced her passing on its official Facebook page with a post that read: “Damascus Branch mourns the loss of our esteemed colleague, the artist Fatima Saad.” The announcement prompted heartfelt tributes from fellow artists and series creators.
