Egyptian TV host Yasmine El-Khatib shocked her followers after sharing painful photos revealing details of a sudden health crisis that put her in a difficult battle with pain and forced her to completely stop filming new episodes of her show Al-Shams.

A wave of sympathy swept across social media after she decided to share what she has been going through, explaining that since the beginning of filming the Ramadan episodes, she noticed unusual swelling on the right side of her face. She later discovered that it was not a simple condition, but rather the result of a bacterial infection in the tissues.

She explained that the infection caused deep inflammation under the skin along with three large abscesses, which required urgent medical intervention and a delicate surgery to remove them on the third day of Ramadan — an experience she described as physically and emotionally painful.

El-Khatib added that her health condition has not yet stabilized and that filming remains suspended for now, as she is still unable to return to work.

She concluded her message by asking her followers to pray for her recovery, as messages of support and solidarity continue to pour in, with many wishing her a speedy return after overcoming this difficult health ordeal.
