TikTok star Marquay Collins, known on the platform as "Marquay the Goat," passed away at the age of 24 on November 26.
However, the full details of his death were only disclosed four months after his mother first announced the news.
The Muscogee County Coroner’s Office, led by Buddy Bryan, confirmed that Collins was found dead at his home, one day after his mother Sonja shared the news on Facebook. She wrote: "My heart is broken, my baby, my last one, Marquay is no longer here with me," adding, "He was the sweetest person, not a mean bone in his body… I needed him longer than God allowed me to have him."
Collins had over 6.9 million followers on TikTok, where he regularly shared comedy and lifestyle videos, and he posted his last video on November 25, a day before his death.
Bryan revealed new details about the death, explaining that Collins had been involved in a car accident in Atlanta on November 7 and was taken to the hospital before being released the same day. After returning home, he complained of headaches and pain in his neck, shoulders, and spine, and told his brother he was experiencing shortness of breath and persistent headaches.
Bryan noted that the case was still under investigation at the time, and the death had been classified as "undetermined." He added that Collins’ body would be transported via the coroner’s office to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) in Decatur for a full autopsy.
