A tragic altercation ended with the death of a 23-year-old Syrian man in Turkey after he jumped from the fifth floor of his home in the city of Antakya, following an argument with his wife.

Turkish media reported that the incident began as a verbal dispute between the couple inside the home, which escalated tragically when the young man decided to end his life by jumping from the balcony, leaving behind five children.

Passersby were shocked to see him fall from the upper floor, and emergency teams intervened quickly, but they were unable to save him, and he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

A video clip showed the young man’s body covered with a blanket while police investigated the circumstances of the incident.

This incident occurs amid the presence of more than two million Syrians in Turkey, most of whom have settled in southern cities near the Syrian border since the start of the crisis in 2011.
