Football fans in Jordan will turn their attention on Saturday evening to the Amman International Stadium, which will host the highly anticipated “classico” clash between Al-Wehdat and Al-Faisaly at 7:30 PM, in the highlight match of the 22nd round of the Jordanian Pro League.

With the title race heating up, the referees department at the Jordan Football Association has assigned this crucial match to an international refereeing crew led by referee Adham Makhadmeh.

An experienced crew for a “fierce” encounter

The selection of Makhadmeh to officiate this match comes due to his extensive experience at both the continental and international levels, and his strong ability to manage high-stakes, highly competitive matches marked by tension and large crowds. He will be assisted by a refereeing team that includes Ahmad Al-Ruwaili and Mohammed Al-Khalaf as assistant referees, while Mahmoud Al-Sawalmeh will serve as the fourth official.

This encounter represents a crucial turning point for both teams. Al-Faisaly, who share the top spot with Al-Hussein on 43 points, know that any stumble—whether a loss or a draw—could allow the “invaders” to take sole control of the top.

Away from the classico spotlight, Saturday’s fixtures begin with another important clash between Al-Hussein (leaders with 43 points) and Al-Salt (sixth with 26 points) at 5:00 PM at Al-Hassan Stadium in Irbid. Al-Hussein aims to capitalize on home advantage and maintain their lead, awaiting the outcome of the Amman showdown.

The round began on Thursday with a valuable victory for Al-Jazeera over Al-Sareeh, while matches continue on Friday with encounters between Al-Baqa'a and Shabab Al-Ordon, as well as Al-Ramtha against Al-Ahli.
