Bassem Samra expresses his grief over the loss of his parents and child Bassem Samra: My two daughters are my source of happiness

In a candid and open interview, Egyptian actor Bassem Samra spoke about his artistic journey and the pressures that come with it, revealing that he is seriously considering stepping away from acting, noting that working in the entertainment industry is exhausting and sometimes requires taking a break to regain balance and mental stability.

During his appearance on a program, Samra indicated his desire to travel for a period and stay away from the spotlight, aiming to get some rest after years of continuous involvement in artistic projects.

He also discussed his experience in the series “Ain Sihria,” explaining that some scenes were particularly challenging, especially those involving the loss of children, which required a high level of focus and genuine emotion to deliver the performance effectively. He also referred to the courtroom scene, which he considered one of the most difficult parts of the work, emphasizing that he always strives to present his characters in his own style without imitation, despite his great admiration for the late star Ahmed Zaki.

Art is a message

Samra emphasized that, for him, art carries a message that goes beyond entertainment, stressing the importance of producing meaningful content that reflects society and leaves a real impact on audiences. He believes that success is not measured only by numbers or trends, but by the extent of the influence a work has in reality.

On the human side, the actor recalled painful moments in his life, most notably losing both his parents at the same time as the passing of his infant daughter—events that left a deep psychological impact and resurface during certain occasions, especially during the month of Ramadan.

His daughters are his source of happiness

Despite these hardships, Samra remains committed to maintaining his family stability, affirming that his daughters “Farah” and “Hind” are his true source of happiness, and that he strives to build a relationship with them based on trust and close communication.

He also shared his perspective on the entertainment industry, describing it as a field full of challenges and competition, noting differences in intentions among those working within it. This leads him to prefer dealing with clarity and avoiding insincere relationships. He added that he has faced situations where he was excluded from certain projects despite prior agreements, but these experiences did not hinder his continuity or ambition to keep developing professionally.
