In a humanitarian appeal, Jano Faghali, the niece of the late artist Sabah, addressed an urgent message to the relevant authorities in Egypt, requesting facilitation of her residency renewal procedures amid difficult health circumstances her husband is facing.

Faghali revealed through her Facebook account her struggle, explaining that her Egyptian husband is receiving treatment in the hospital after being diagnosed with cancer, which prevents him from accompanying her to the passport office to complete the required procedures that necessitate his presence to confirm the continuation of their marriage.

She noted that she possesses all official documents, including the marriage certificate and medical reports confirming her husband’s presence in the hospital, but his health condition prevents completing the procedures in the usual way.

Great love for Egypt

In her message, she expressed her deep love for Egypt, stating that although she holds Spanish nationality, she grew up loving the country thanks to her aunt, the artist Sabah, who was the reason behind her family’s connection to and pride in Egypt. She also appealed to officials to consider her exceptional case, expressing confidence in their cooperation and understanding of her humanitarian circumstances.

It is worth noting that Jano Faghali previously managed her aunt’s business during her stay in Cairo and oversaw the management of her artistic archive across social media platforms.

As for the artist Sabah, she passed away on November 26, 2014, at the age of 87, after a rich artistic career during which she left an unforgettable mark on Arab art with her distinctive voice and presence, remaining a symbol of joy and authenticity.
