• Amer Jamoos Explains Reasons for His Move to Iraq’s Al-Zawraa

Jamoos stated that he is still in the process of getting familiar with the football environment in Iraq, emphasizing that the Iraqi league is characterized by strong competition and a larger number of clubs compared to the Jordanian league.

The Jordanian national team player and Al-Zawraa forward, Amer Jamoos, revealed the reasons behind his decision to join the “Seagulls” during the current winter transfer window, aiming to represent the team in the Iraqi Stars League and the AFC Champions League 2.

At 24, Jamoos has emerged as one of Jordan’s standout players over the past two seasons, following his impressive performances with Al-Wehdat Club, where he established himself as a key figure thanks to his technical stability and continuous development, attracting the attention of several clubs outside Jordan.

According to informed sources, Al-Zawraa signed Jamoos to fill the gap left by his compatriot Nizar Al-Rashdan, who ended his stint with the club and moved to Qatar SC after a short period at the start of the season.

Jamoos confirmed that his choice of Al-Zawraa was driven by full confidence in the club’s sporting project, noting that the team is one of Iraq’s top clubs with a rich history of competing for domestic and continental titles.

He added that prior contact with several Jordanian national team players already at Al-Zawraa, including Abdullah Naseeb and Nizar Al-Rashdan, positively influenced his decision by giving him a clear picture of the club environment and the level of competition in the Iraqi league.

Regarding his first impressions, Jamoos said he is still getting accustomed to football life in Iraq, emphasizing that the Iraqi league stands out for its high level of competition and the large number of clubs compared to the Jordanian league, making it a new and significant challenge in his career.

The Jordanian player has been training regularly with Al-Zawraa, seeking to earn the trust of the coaching staff led by Egyptian coach Emad Al-Nahhas, in preparation for the upcoming match against Duhok in the 15th round of the Iraqi Stars League, scheduled for Wednesday.

Amer Jamoos hopes that this move will mark a major step forward in his professional career and that he can contribute to achieving Al-Zawraa’s goals both domestically and continentally in the coming period.
