Mahmoud Basheer Passes Away at Age 76 Mahmoud Basheer Featured in Distinguished Dramatic Works

Egyptian actor Mahmoud Basheer passed away at the age of 76, following a severe deterioration in his health, after a long and rich artistic career spanning dozens of TV series and stage plays.

The late actor was one of the most prominent figures of “Samer Theater”, where he worked for over 35 years and performed in more than 40 plays, earning admiration from both audiences and critics.

Mahmoud Basheer participated in several notable dramatic works over the decades, including:

• “I Will Not Live in My Father’s Robe” with Nour El Sherif (1996)

• “Morning and Evening Talk” with Laila Elwi (2001)

• “The Night and Its End” with Yehia El-Fakharany (2003)

• “That’s What Happened” with Ruby (2019)

His last appearance on screen was in the thriller series “In a Day and a Night” (2021), alongside Ahmed Rizk, Aiten Amer, Dalia Mostafa, Salah Abdel Allah, Mohamed Gomaa, and Mirna Nour El-Din.

In his final days, the late actor suffered severe health complications due to acute pneumonia, which required his transfer to the intensive care unit and placement on a ventilator, before passing away at the age of 76.
