- Expanded tools enable more flexible chat organization and management features
WhatsApp has started rolling out a new subscription plan called “WhatsApp Plus,” which is currently available to a limited number of iOS users as part of a trial aimed at offering additional features for a low monthly fee, while keeping the core user experience unchanged.
The new plan provides subscribers with access to advanced customization tools inside the app, without affecting essential functions such as messaging and calls, which remain free and fully available to all users.
According to the company, WhatsApp Plus is limited to WhatsApp Messenger only and does not include WhatsApp Business, as it is designed for personal rather than commercial use.
The extra features include the ability to change the app’s appearance using 18 different interface colors, along with 14 new app icon designs ranging from classic styles to modern decorative options, in addition to simpler minimalist choices.
Subscribers can also increase pinned chats from 3 to 20 conversations, making it easier to keep important chats readily accessible.
The service further introduces exclusive animated sticker packs, which can still be viewed by non-subscribers when shared in chats.
Additional updates include tools for organizing conversations into custom lists, with unified settings for notification tones and call ringtones per list, along with a new set of modern ringtones.
The subscription operates on a monthly auto-renewing model unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal, with pricing varying by region.
The company confirmed that WhatsApp Plus is still in a limited iOS testing phase, with plans to gradually expand availability and introduce more features in future updates.
