Jordan achieved a new administrative milestone in the Arab sports arena, as Jihad Quteishat, vice president of the Jordan Olympic Committee, was elected by acclamation as a member of the executive board of the Arab National Olympic Committees Union for the 2025–2029 term
The election took place during the 23rd general assembly meeting of the union, held on Saturday in Riyadh, on the sidelines of Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, highlighting the strong trust in Jordanian administrative expertise in regional sports forums

The general assembly meetings of Arab and Islamic sports unions witnessed Jordanian participation, with Mr. Jihad Quteishat joining Ms. Rana Al-Saeed, secretary general of the Jordan Olympic Committee, at the 14th general assembly meeting of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation, held on Saturday
This active and continuous participation reflects the strategy of the Jordan Olympic Committee to support and strengthen Arab and Islamic cooperation in sports, and to exchange expertise that advances the Olympic and sports movement in the region
Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal elected president
The general assembly of the Arab National Olympic Committees Union also elected Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal as president of the union for the upcoming term, with unanimous support for his leadership of the Arab organization
Following the election of Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, the new executive board was formed, including Mr. Jihad Quteishat by acclamation, reflecting Jordan’s role as a key partner in decision-making and guiding Arab Olympic work over the next four years
The new executive board, led by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal with Jihad Quteishat as a member, is expected to advance joint initiatives, enhance administrative and organizational performance of Arab Olympic committees, and achieve further international sports accomplishments
