Reminder for Jordanians about the time change

Some smartphones automatically adjust the time from daylight saving to standard time on Thursday night/Friday morning, which may cause confusion for some users.
These changes occur despite Jordan continuing to follow daylight saving time year-round, after the government decided to abolish standard time at the beginning of 2025.
Why does this confusion happen?
Some phones are pre-programmed with both daylight and standard time systems, causing them to automatically adjust according to old settings, even though Jordan follows daylight saving time throughout the year. It’s noticeable that some devices of the same model show the correct time, while others display the wrong time, depending on the operating system updates.
Steps to fix the clock on your phone:
- Restart your phone: This simple step often solves the automatic time adjustment issue.
- Update your operating system: Installing the latest updates ensures more accurate time settings.
- Manually adjust the clock: If the first two steps fail, manually set the time to GMT +3 (Jordan’s daylight saving time). The method varies by phone type, but almost all smartphones offer this option.
Tip: Double-check your time before important appointments to avoid confusion, especially with the weekend or any scheduled events approaching.
